and as he warned, "...the boy as Ignorance and the girl as Want." ... "Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased."[1]
In a very revealing question, Scrooge asks, "How shall I ever understand this world? There is nothing on which it is so hard as poverty, and yet, there is nothing it condemns with such severity as the pursuit of wealth."[2]
And Ebenezer Scrooge incredulously asked, "And you're going to show me the shadows of things that have not yet happened but will happen? Spirit of the Future, I fear you more than any spectre I have met tonight!"[3]
Wow, was Charles Dickens some kind of genius or a weird time traveler? Could he see this far into the future? Or was he simply a wise man and a student of history and of human nature?
There are two quick issues about which I would like to speak very briefly on this Friday night:
(1) HELLCARE and how barf will achieve a single-payer, government-run hellcare system; and
(2) "Circumspeak" ... our inability to call a spade a spade, calling it a shovel instead, and forcing Americans to play a grown-up, "politically correct" game of "Password." Do you remember that game show? So tonight I will discuss the word "circumspeak," and since it does not appear in the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, perhaps I just made it up and may therefore, write my own definition. But this new word perfectly describes exactly what's going on in America.
Hellcare, Obamacare, H.R.3590, Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (the "Bill"), whatever you choose to call it, was "passed," sort of, by both houses of Congress and signed into law by barf on March 23, 2010 despite loud outcries from an enraged American people. I'm not going to pour salt into the wounds because they're still to fresh and America's anger is still at the boiling point; however, barf repeatedly said the following:
1. The Bill will reduce the cost of healthcare;
2. The Bill will be under $1 TRILLION (sorry, need to put some nitroglyceride under my tongue!);
3. The Bill would not increase the cost to citizens;
4. If you like your doctor, you can keep it him/her; and
5. There will be no public option.
Screeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeecch! I'm going to repeat it one more time ... There will be NO PUBLIC OPTION!
But America, look at what's happening. On February 18, 2010, the uber-liberal, barf-loving, Huffington Post wrote just prior to the Bill passing, Kathleen Sebelius, Health and Human Services Secretary said, and I quote, "Consumers are facing budget-busting increases in medical insurance premiums ..."[4] If this is the case, why was it passed? I can go through the other promises which are also not true, but tonight I am focusing on the most significant; 5. There will be no public option.
The Bill was signed into law, and in anticipation of Nos. 1-4, the healthcare premiums are skyrocketing already. According to "Views and News from the U.S. Chamber of Commerce," a group that is openly hostile to barf, said "U.S. employers can expect medical costs to grow by 9% in 2010, according to a new report from PricewaterhouseCoopers' Health Research Institute ..."[5] and "... American workers are accelerating their use of health care in anticipation of losing their jobs and, potentially, their health insurance coverage."[6] Now why in the world would anyone think that?
In an article, "Drugmakers Raised Prices Last Year In Anticipation Of New Health Law, Eli Lilly Reports Financial Hit" on April 20, 2010 that started to report the trend of bad news, and it has only gotten worse since.
"'The Wall Street Journal:' 'Drug companies sharply raised prices last year, ahead of increased rebates they must pay to Medicaid and other expenses tied to the federal health overhaul passed last month. Prices for brand-name pharmaceuticals rose 9.1% last year, the biggest increase in at least a decade, according to pharmacy-benefit manager Express Scripts Inc. The increases were 'exacerbated' by the health debate, according to Steve Miller of Express Scripts, 'although drug makers disputed that notion ... [T]he effects of the price increases on overall drug spending are being tempered by the availability and aggressive promotion of cheaper generic alternatives, among other factors.'"[7]
On July 5, 2010, Staff Writer, Victoria Stagg Elliott, wrote in amednews that, "Insurance premiums soaring for individual policyholders."[8]
"...A Kaiser Family Foundation report, 'Survey of People Who Purchase Their Own Insurance,' issued June 21, found that 77% of those who buy individual policies were told that their insurance premiums would increase by a proposed average of 20%. The remaining 23% were mostly individuals who had been with their plans one year or less.
Sixty-one percent of individuals surveyed stayed with their plans and paid an average 18% more than they had previously. Another 16% switched to cheaper plans, paying an average of 3% less -- but 49% of those who switched ended up with fewer benefits. The survey said the average individual rate was $3,606 per year, while the average family rate was $7,102."[9]
"...The insurers, led by Cigna and its 2nd quarter 6.4% drop, seek to benefit in two primary ways: (1) by squeezing out as many profits as they can, similar to credit card companies raising rates before laws kick in limiting those rates; and (2) keeping their MLRs [medical loss ratio] as low as possible by shoving [not nudging, but shoving] consumers into lower cost plans in a way they would not be able under the new regulatory regime.
The medical loss ratio is the percentage of premiums earned spent on consumers' health care. Congress sought to set a floor for the MLR so that insurers could not continue their practice of denying their customers care at unreasonable levels. But as the insurers wait for the regulation to be implemented, they are raising premiums and lowering their MLRs without providing clear explanations for their actions."[10]
The groundwork has been laid, so bear with me for a few moments longer. I will take you where I am going with this.
Although the government has started implementing portions of the law now, the healthcare insurance premiums have risen in anticipation of the law that will go into effect in 2014. By the time 2014 arrives, hopefully barf will be gone, our Republic restored, but the insurance premiums will be through the roof, and many Americans will be unable to afford insurance, especially if they are unemployed or are under-employed. By the time that this Bill is in full force and effect, HELLCARE may be unrepealable. So what are the options? Never mind, no problem. During this period, the insurance companies are unregulated. When these currently unregulated insurance premiums become so expensive by 2014 that no one can afford them, here comes the government to take care of you! They will proclaim that insurance companies are so out-of-control and insurance so expensive, that the ONLY SOLUTION is single payer, public option, rationed-care, government-run, HELLCARE for every American. Whoops!! Another free-market, capital-based business will be gone, run out of business by another stroke of barf's pen. We have many potential "final straws," that will destroy America. At this moment in time, she completely disappears.
On July 26, 2010, when Harry Reid said at a gathering of liberal activists at Netroots, according to Reason Magazine, "'We’re going to have a public option ... [I]t’s just a question of when.”[11] I believe this was their intention the entire time. In legal terms, it is called "bait and switch." I call it deception and flat out lying.
Well, short has became long, and evening has become night, and now it is early morning; however, I am determined to post this tonight ... er, this morning. So, let's move onto the second part of this blog ... tonight we shall discuss CIRCUMSPEAK, what it means and how accurately it describes just how stupidly Americans are behaving.
The new word is "circumspeak."

I refuse to be politically correct. I refuse to CIRCUMSPEAK or use CIRCUMSPEAK. Are we so afraid to call a spade a spade and a muslim a muslim? I am Episcopalian ... whoooohoooo. I don't see the problem. One spends a lifetime learning, acquiring, and utilizing a vast vocabulary; choosing words that accurately and articulately reflect and express thoughts, actions, moods, stories, etc., and then, one is essentially asked to "dumb down!" You must ask yourself these questions ... Who is doing it? Why are they are doing it? Then, you must refuse to be told what words to use and how to speak. America, they are insulting you, belittling you, and slowly changing you. I believe that this is a subtle violation of the First Amendment and a gradual and progressive transformation of our language/speech, and unfortunately, Americans are willingly complying in the name of "political correctness."
In order to explain a little bit better and to clarify my point, I would like to share an experience with you. I belong to a group on Facebook. As the stories about the Department of Justice's failure to convict the New Black Panthers were emerging and being reported on the news, we were posting videos and news articles. We were unaware that Facebook was capturing any and all comments posted about the New Black Panthers and automatically posting them on the New Black Panther wall (the page has since been removed from Facebook). When one went to the New Black Panther page, the stated purpose of the group basically was "to grow membership and to organize until the time when the orders would be given ..." This sounds pretty scary, and to many, it was it was. So we decided to "circumspeak;" to play a grown-up politically correct game based on the old television show ... Password.
We all got out our thesauruses (or thesauri, if you prefer). As an example, instead of saying New Black Panther group, we posted about "the animals that were non-frogs, non-canine, non-equine, non-marine, opposite of white, animals that belong to the not small feline family, non-organization, gathering. We had fun with it, and extended it to other posts over the next few days.
But it is really not funny. It is what barf and this stupid administration are doing. Terrorists commit acts of terror. They do not "participate in man-made disasters," describing them as if they were a game at a children's party or a break-out meeting during a conference. We can't call black "black" because someone might get offended. We cannot call a muslim a muslim ... and why is that exactly? In order to speak about a muslim county, in CIRCUMSPEAK, must we refer to them and it as the non-Catholic non-Buddhist, non-Episcopal, non-Presbyterian, non-Baptist, non-Mormon (you get the picture) that lives in country that is non-N. or -S. America, non-Australia, non-Africa, non-European, etc.? Shouldn't we use words that describe exactly that meaning and usage for which each was created and intended? Since when does an articulate person get beaten up for being succinct, being being precise, and for using the appropriate word(s)? Muslim from Iraq. There, wasn't that easy? The State Department, the DOJ, barf, and this administration will continue to use words that cause confusion, obfuscate the issues, and deceive the American people.
A spade is not a shovel. A shovel is not a spade. A spade is a spade, and a shovel just happens to be a shovel. No, they are really not inter-changeable as one cannot say American law and Shari'a law are the same, just called something different. Each is descriptive, succinct, and clear in meaning. Each means something particular; something with specific traits that make it unique. One word cannot be substituted for another unless they are synonymous; have the exact or similar meaning, unless of course, there is a more sinister purpose; an intent to deceive, confuse, and obfuscate the issue(s). When do I call a spade a spade and a muslim terrorist, a muslim terrorist? Now! I'm there, guys. No more CIRCUMSPEAK on my part! No more playing Password for me! No more being politically correct!

AMERICA NEEDS TO WAKE UP!

That's what we think we heard on the 11th of September 2001 (When more than 3,000 Americans were killed) and maybe it was, but I think it should have been 'Get Out of Bed!' In fact, the alarm clock has been buzzing since 1979 and we have continued to hit the snooze button and roll over for a few more minutes of peaceful sleep since then.
It was a cool fall day in November 1979 in a country going through a religious and political upheaval when a group of Iranian students attacked and seized the American Embassy in Tehran. This seizure was an outright attack on American soil; it was an attack that held the world's most powerful country hostage and paralyzed a Presidency. The attack on this sovereign U. S. Embassy set the stage for events to follow for the next 25 years.
America was still reeling from the aftermath of the Vietnam experience and had a serious threat from the Soviet Union when then, President Carter, had to do something. He chose to conduct a clandestine raid in the desert. The ill-fated mission ended in ruin, but stood as a symbol of America's inability to deal with terrorism.
America's military had been decimated and down sized since the end of the Vietnam War. A poorly trained, poorly equipped and poorly organized military was called on to execute a complex mission that was doomed from the start.
Shortly after the Tehran experience, Americans began to be kidnapped and killed throughout the Middle East. America could do little to protect her citizens living and working abroad. The attacks against US soil continued.
In April of 1983 a large vehicle packed with high explosives was driven into the US Embassy compound in Beirut. When it explodes, it kills 63 people. The alarm went off again and America hit the snooze button once more.
Then just six short months later in 1983 a large truck heavily laden down with over 2500 pounds of TNT smashed through the main gate of the US Marine Corps headquarters in Beirut and 241 US servicemen are killed. America mourns her dead and hit the snooze Button once more.
Two months later in December 1983, another truck loaded with explosives is driven into the US Embassy in Kuwait, and America continues her slumber.
The following year, in September 1984, another van was driven into the gate of the US Embassy in Beirut and America slept.
Soon the terrorism spreads to Europe. In April 1985 a bomb explodes in a restaurant frequented by US soldiers in Madrid.
Then in August 1985 a Volkswagen loaded with explosives is driven into the main gate of the US Air Force Base at Rheine-Main, 22 are killed and the snooze alarm is buzzing louder and louder as US interests are continually attacked.
Fifty-nine days later in 1985 a cruise ship, the Achille Lauro is hijacked and we watched as an American in a wheelchair is singled out of the passenger list and executed. [After they murdered Leon Klinghoffer, the Palestinians shoved him and his wheelchair over the side of the ship into the water.]
The terrorists then shift their tactics to bombing civilian airliners when they bomb TWA Flight 840 in April of 1986 that killed 4. And the most tragic bombing, Pan Am Flight 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988, killed 259.
The wake-up alarm is getting louder and louder.
The terrorists decide to bring the fight to America. In January 1993, two CIA agents are shot and killed as they enter CIA headquarters in Langley, Virginia.
The following month, February 1993, a group of terrorists are arrested after a rented van packed with explosives is driven into the underground parking garage of the World Trade Center in New York City . Six people are killed and over 1000 are injured. Still this is a crime and not an act of war? The snooze [button on the] alarm is depressed again.
Then in November 1995 a car bomb explodes at a US military complex in Riyadh Saudi Arabia killing seven service men and women.
A few months later in June of 1996, another truck bomb explodes only 35 yards from the US military compound in Dhahran , Saudi Arabia. It destroys the Khobar Towers, a US Air Force barracks, killing 19 and injuring over 500. The terrorists are getting braver and smarter as they see that America does not respond decisively.
They move to coordinate their attacks in a simultaneous attack on two US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania. These attacks were planned with precision. They kill 224. America responds with cruise missile attacks and goes back to sleep.
The USS Cole was docked in the port of Aden, Yemen for refueling on 12 October 2000, when a small craft pulled alongside the ship and exploded killing 17 US Navy Sailors. Attacking a US War Ship is an act of war, but we sent the FBI to investigate the crime and went back to sleep.
And of course you know the events of 11 September 2001. Most Americans think this was the first attack against US soil or in America . How wrong they are? America has been under a constant attack since 1979 and we chose to hit the snooze alarm and roll over and go back to sleep.
In the news lately we have seen lots of finger pointing from every high official in government over what they knew and what they didn't know. But if you've read the papers and paid a little attention I think you can see exactly what they knew. You don't have to be in the FBI or CIA or on the National Security Council to see the pattern that has been developing since 1979.
I think we have been in a war for the past 25 years and it will continue until we as a people decide enough is enough. America needs to 'Get out of Bed' and act decisively now. America has been changed forever. We have to be ready to pay the price and make the sacrifice to ensure our way of life continues. We cannot afford to keep hitting the snooze button again and again and roll over and go back to sleep.
After the attack on Pearl Harbor, Admiral Yamamoto said '... it seems all we have done is awakened a sleeping giant.' [Corrected: "I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant and fill him with a terrible resolve."] This is the message we need to disseminate to terrorists around the world.
This is not a political thing to be hashed over in an election year, this is an AMERICAN thing. This is about our Freedom and the Freedom of our children in years to come.
If you believe in this please forward it to as many people as you can especially to the young people and all those who dozed off in history class and who seem so quick to protest such a necessary military action.
If you don't believe this, or choose not to do anything, just delete it, push snooze, and go back to sleep.
Perhaps my blogs should have more focus, but it is much easier to put it into one. In its heyday, no one ever asked the New York Times to be shorter and smaller!! But I do apologize.

Posted below are two articles that explain "The Hindenburg Omen." The theory is that if these factors, if or when they occur concurrently, or perhaps sequentially, can predict a stock market crash. Let me know what you think! I posted one it its entirety, and one with only the link.
The Hindenburg Omen Has Arrived

Easily the most feared technical pattern in all of chartism (for the bullishly inclined) is the dreaded Hindenburg Omen. Those who know what it is, tend to have an atavistic reaction to its mere mention. Those who do not, can catch up on its implications courtesy of Wikipedia, but in a nutshell: "The Hindenburg Omen is a technical analysis that attempts to predict a forthcoming stock market crash. It is named after the Hindenburg disaster of May 6th 1937, during which the German zeppelin was destroyed in a sudden conflagration." Granted, the Hindenburg Omen is not a guarantee of a crash, and the five criteria that must be met for a Hindenburg trigger typically need to reoccur within 36 days for reconfirmation. Yet the statistics are startling: "Looking back at historical data, the probability of a move greater than 5% to the downside after a confirmed Hindenburg Omen was 77%, and usually takes place within the next forty-days." The last Hindenburg Omen occurred during the lows of 2009. Today, we just had another (unconfirmed) Hindenburg Omen. It is time to batten down the hatches - something big is coming.
As a reminder, the 5 criteria of the Omen are as follows:
That the daily number of NYSE new 52 Week Highs and the daily number of new 52 Week Lows must both be greater than 2.2 percent of total NYSE issues traded that day.
That the smaller of these numbers is greater than or equal to 69 (68.772 is 2.2% of 3126). This is not a rule but more like a checksum. This condition is a function of the 2.2% of the total issues.
That the NYSE 10 Week moving average is rising.
That the McClellan Oscillator is negative on that same day.
That new 52 Week Highs cannot be more than twice the new 52 Week Lows (however it is fine for new 52 Week Lows to be more than double new 52 Week Highs). This condition is absolutely mandatory.
Today, all five conditions were satisfied. June 2008 was another such reconfirmed event, and as Barron's pointed out then, "there's a 25% probability of a full-blown stock-market crash in the next 120 days. Caveat emptor." Boy was the emptor caveating within 120 days (especially if said emptor was named Dick Fuld). Which brings us to the present: should the Omen be reconfirmed within 36 days, all bets are off.

This man was stuck in one of the WTC towers and called for help. He kept trying to get some support from the emergency services, but there wasn't much they could do except to try to calm him down and to reassure him. The call seems long, but it's not as long as it was for that man. There are additional 911 tapes from two callers in the WTC that have been released since the Moussaoui Trial.

President Obama will host an iftar — the special evening meal observed during Ramadan — on Friday night in the White House dining room.
Obama participated in a similar gathering last year.
Celebrations like iftar dinners "remind us of the principles that we hold in common, and Islam's role in advancing justice, progress, tolerance and the dignity of all human beings," Obama wrote in a statement Wednesday.
"Ramadan is a celebration of a faith known for great diversity and racial equality ... a reminder that Islam has always been part of America and that American Muslims have made extraordinary contributions to our country." (I ask what contributions; Demolition of two tall buildings, or serving as judge, jury, and executioner of 3,000+ people)
The dinner comes amid a growing controversy over the proposed construction of an Islamic cultural center in downtown Manhattan, near the site of the World Trade Center. A CNN poll released Wednesday found that 68 percent of the public opposes the project.
Meanwhile, the White House — which has made great efforts to reach out to the Muslim community — has been silent on the issue.
"This is rightly a matter for New York City and the local community to decide," White House press secretary Robert Gibbs told reporters on Aug. 3. (Beep! Wrong answer, Bobbie!)
Ramadan began on Wednesday and will end around Sept. 10.

Which brings me to the Russian spies that were hurriedly returned to Russia AND barf offering to meet Ahmadinejad without conditions. So how's that new policy of "reaching out" to muslims working out for you barf? If Iran Came Close to Getting a Nuclear Weapon, Would Obama Use Force? Given the two points-of-view listed above, I don't think so. I'm getting really suspicious now! Personally, I think he'd pee in his pants, point fingers, and blame it on anyone and everyone.
